In 1948 Al Necker built Necker’s, a lawn and garden center along the College Highway. Over the years, Mr. Necker introduced hardware, toys, and bikes. All five of the Necker children along with Debbie Necker worked in the store, but it was Debbie who spent most of her time working with her father. When her father passed away in 1996 at the age of 90, Debbie took ownership and focused on the toy selection to create the store it is today.
